Landscape planning is a process of turning your outdoor living environment from what you have to what you want it to be. Each plan is an individual process and your results are unique to your environment.
The design process will take you through a series of steps that will result in a landscape or master plan. Some of these steps can be abbreviated or combined to achieve the finished product.
In our initial site visit, we will ask a series of questions that will help us determine your needs and wants. On this visit, we will step off the property and analyze the site.
The analysis will consist of existing conditions of your property such as: sunny and shady locations, drainage problems, prevailing winds, good and bad views, slopes, circulation patterns, and any other existing conditions to develop your final plan.
Often, on the intial visit, we will develop a bubble diagram to locate activity areas you wish to develop. Activity areas such as play areas, gardens, outdoor dining, pools, buffers, storage, service areas, private gardens and public gardens are organized to provide an outline for the master plan.
The master plan will provide you with a scaled drawing that will include a planting plan identifying all plant materials showing mature planting sizes to avoid over planting. The plan will show all desired hardscapes such as driveways, walks, water features, patios, arbors, walls and fences. This plan will be presented to you in the second visit unless preliminary designs are requested. If you prefer, we can take a phased approach to your landscaping design and present you with our phase plan to meet your budgetary requirements.
Preliminary designs consist of a three options depicting different planting and hardscape designs.
To get started today, simply fill out the questionnaire and fax back to us at the number provided on the bottom of the form. A survey of your property on our initial visit would be helpful but not necessary.
